ANDERSON

ALICE - Kenneth D. "Andy" Anderson, Sr. passed away January 19, 2000 at his home in Alice.
Mr. Anderson was born November 20, 1920 in New Canton, Virginia to Thomas and Virginia Anderson. He formerly owned and operated the Tic-Toc Drive-In Grocery in Kingsville for many years. He was a life member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #1926. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Anderson of Alice; three daughters, Jody (Doyle) Smith of Pasadena, Shelly (Kenny) Korb of Katy, and Debi (Dan) Ellis of Midland; one son, Ken D. (Joni) Anderson, Jr. of Spring; one sister Katherine Jones of New Canton, Virginia; one brother, Thomas B. Anderson, Jr. of New Canton, Virginia; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.
Cremation preceded the memorial service.

ATTAWAY

Jim Attaway, 62, passed away on January 19, 2000 at his residence with his family at his bedside.
Graveside Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday January 21, 2000 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Jimmy leaves a brother, Neal and two nephews.

BENTON

Mrs. Maria Teresa Benton, 40, passed away January 18, 2000 in a local hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Dale Bauchard Benton of Corpus Christi, Texas; her mother, Guadalupe Corpus Medina; and two sisters, Aurora Guardado and Eva Compillo; two brothers, Ruben and Alejandro Guardado all of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Memorial Services will be held Friday January 21, 2000 at Templo Victoria New Life at 1202 14th and Morgan, Corpus Christi, Texas at 6:00 p.m.
Private Services will follow in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

BROWN

Virginia Moore Brown, a retired Civil Service employee, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2000. She was 72 years old.
She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 28, 1927. The family moved to the Corpus Christi area in 1931 and have been residents since that date.
She married Jim D. Brown on August 4, 1943 and two sons were born of the marriage. She began her civil service career in 1955 at the Naval Hospital. She transferred to the Civilian Personnel Department at NAS in 1967 and subsequently transferred to the Army Depot in 1973. She held the position of Management Employee Relations Specialist upon her retirement in November 1985. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Spohn Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Brown; her parents, Howard and Clara Moore; and her brothers, Edgar and Ronnie Moore.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Jim, of 56 years; son, Robert H. "Bob" and Patricia Brown of Midland, Texas; daughter, Karen Brown of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Austin Brown of Spring, Texas; sister, Evelyn Bomer of Mathis; brother, Ernest Moore of Pleasanton; three stepchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. in the Seaside Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.

CAMMON

Allen Joe Cammon, 71, passed away Monday, January 17, 2000. He was a U.S. veteran of the Army.
Survivors include his wife Janie M. Cammon of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Jorine Moore of Haywood, California and Jo Ann Topsy of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son Michael Wayne Cammon of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister Bernice Lockwood of Bloomington, Texas; four aunts: Pecola Herron of Bloomington, Texas, Chris Meadows of Dallas, Texas, Ethel Lee Simmons of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ada Mae Clemons of San Angelo, Texas; one uncle Forrest Cammon of Carlsbad, New Mexico; six grandchildren: Cedrick Chase, Renee Chase, Milford Topsy, Jr., Marcus Topsy, Justin Topsy and Larry Hamilton, Jr. all of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great grandchildren: Detray Cavaness, Jadeah Beasley and Marvin Beasley of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation hours will be Friday, January 21, 2000 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Unity Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services to held Saturday, January 22, 2000, 11:00 A.M. at Unity Chapel Funeral Home with Bishop Curtis Byrd officiating.

CAMPBELL

Jim Campbell, 69, passed away Monday, January 17, 2000 in a local hospital.
He was born on September 29, 1930 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to James August and Annie Marie Campbell. Jim served his country in the United States Navy for twenty-three years. After retiring in Corpus Christi in 1974, Jim retired as manager of Eckerd Drugs in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eve Campbell, in 1985.
He found love again when he met and married Maggie Picazo in 1993.
Jim is survived by his six children, Vicki McMinn (David) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Tommy Campbell (Audry) of Jacksonville, Florida, Dolly Rutledge (Jeff) of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Susy Wayne (Doug), Nina May (Bill) and Sergio Muniz (Brillanta) all of Corpus Christi, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Rick McMinn of Corpus Christi, Texas, James McMinn of Barksdale Airforce Base, Louisiana, Jeff McMinn of Houston, Texas, Lisa Shuler of Newport News, Virginia, Crystal Campbell of Jacksonville, Florida, Jack Kelley, Javier Kelley, Jason Kelley, Bianca Caballero all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lance Hurlbert of Jacksonville, Florida, Melissa W. Jimenez, James Wayne of Garland, Texas, Anthony May, Anthony Muniz and Jayden Muniz all of Corpus Christi, Texas; and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Seaside Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 19, 2000 until 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000. A prayer service will be held in the Seaside Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted in the Seaside Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2000 and interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.
Jack Kelley, Javier Kelley, Jason Kelley, Doug Wayne, Mel Trice and Jaime Briones will serve as pallbearers.

CISNEROS

Luisa B. Cisneros, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2000. She was born on March 12, 1914 in Mexico but had resided in Robstown most of her life. Mrs. Cisneros was a homemaker and a member of Iglesia Cristiana Bet-El in Robstown.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonoso Cisneros.
She is survived by one son, Johnny (Olga) Cisneros of San Antonio; two daughters, Amelia (Narciso) Zepeda of Corpus Christi, Eugenia Reed of Houston; two step-sons, Antonio (Cecelia) Cisneros of Immokalee, Florida, Miguel (Fina) Cisneros of Corpus Christi; one brother, David (Epifania) Borjas of League City, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
A Religious Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2000 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Iglesia Cristiana Bet-El Church in Robstown, Texas with Rev. Rene Hidalgo officiating.
Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.

CLARK

Olletha Clark, 81, passed away January 17, 2000 in a local care center.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday January 21, 2000 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Clark leaves a host of friends to morn her passing.

DELASSO

ROCKPORT TX - William "Bill" J. DeLasso, 65, a resident of Rockport for the past 6 1/2 years, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2000 at a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born January 9, 1935 in Villa Park, Illinois to James and Rachel DeLasso. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #323 in Rockport, American Legion Post 363 where he served as Commander three times. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a life member of VFW Post 3904, a life member of DAV #210, American G.I. Forum #324, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria, Aleman Shrine Temple Moose Lodge in Ingleside, and the 40 and 8 Club of Kingsville and had retired from Caterpillar Company after 46 1/2 years.
He is survived by his wife Edna DeLasso of Rockport; his sister, Jean Delgado of Berwyn, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 22, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge #323, 602 Hickory, Rockport.
Burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio on Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at 9:00 a.m.

DIEGEL

Jerry L. Diegel III, a former resident of Corpus Christi, Texas now of Bay City, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2000. Jerry leaves his wife, Charlotte Diegal of Bay City, Texas; two sons, Jerry L. Diegel IV and Lee Diegel and his mother, Raenel Diegel and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Memory Gardens Funeral Home.

ELLIS

ARANSAS PASS TX - William L. Ellis, Jr., 77, a resident of Aransas Pass, Texas, since 1954, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2000 at a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1922 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Wm. Lee and Mary Christina Ellis. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1942. He was shot down in Germany in 1944 and was a Prisoner of war for 13 months. He also served during the Korean war and then returned to Texas to study Law at S.M.U. He formed the Law Firm of Ellis & Andrews in 1960 and organized the local Jaycees and became their National Director from Texas. He was elected Mayor of Aransas Pass in 1963 and was re-elected twice. He served as regional Vice President of the Texas Municipal League, served on the Board of Directors for First State Bank in 1969 and served as its Chairman for several years. In 1966 he was appointed as a Trustee of the Overbid Property Trust and while serving as Chairman he accomplished the expansion of the Aransas Pass Library. He served as City Attorney for Aransas Pass from 1955 until 1957, served on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas from 1981 until 1984, Bill served as President of Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce in 1963 and was a long time member of Lions Club International.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Olympia "Lee" Ellis of Aransas Pass; two sons, Ken (Holly) Ellis of The Woodlands and Billy Ellis of Dallas; two daughters, Chrissy Ellis of Houston and Kathy (Reid) Westmoreland of Bay City; his brother, Bob (Darlene) Ellis of Irving; his sister Annette (Don) Metz of Lockhart; five grandchildren: Misty Holmes, Bradley Westmoreland, Allan Westmoreland, Stephanie Ellis and Robert Ellis and the surviving members of his Bomber Squad: Ed Ely of Gettesburg, Pennsylvania, David Ririe of Salinas, California, John Russell of Redding, California and Vince Muffaletto of Buffalo, New York.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 23, 2000 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel Aransas Pass with Rev. Zeke Zirkel and Rev Don DelaPlain officiating.
Military graveside services will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.

FRANCIS

Mary "Jean" Francis, 74, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2000 in a local hospital.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette Poole of New Braunfels, Texas, Lee (Cherilyn) Francis of Corpus Christi, Doris (Larry) Mabry of Houston, Louise (Curtis) Mauldin of Houston and Chester (Kay) Francis of Corpus Christi; one brother, Louis Robison of Tennessee; two sisters, Lois (Fred) O'Bryant and Doris "Dean" Rhodes of San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Seaside Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2000 with visitation beginning two hours prior to service time.
Interment to follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4101 S. Alameda St., Corpus Christi, Texas.

FRANCO

ALICE - Jose T. Franco passed away January 20, 2000 in an Alice hospital. He was 91. Mr. Franco was born September 18, 1908 in San Diego, Texas. He was a retired school bus driver for A.I.S.D. He was a member of the El Mesias Methodist Church in Alice. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Christina S. Franco of Alice; one daughter, Annabelle (John) Neumann of Alice; one sister, Jesusa Torres of Alice; two brothers, Manuel (Mamie) Franco of Alice and Adelaido (Lily) Franco of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Christine Neumann of Alice; many nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday January 21, 2000 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 22, 2000 at the El Mesias Methodist Church in Alice.
Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery, military honors will be conducted by the United Veteran Burial Association.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the El Mesias Methodist Church.

HAYLEY

W. D. "Dub" Hayley, 81, of Corpus Christi, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2000 in a local hospital. He was born October 9, 1918 in Ranger, Texas to Ira E. and Lucy Mae Owen Hayley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and pioneer building contractor in the Tuloso-Midway area. He introduced the first metallic buildings in color in Corpus Christi. Mr. Hayley was a member of the Church of Christ at Riverside, a QB, a private pilot, restored antique cars, and enjoyed football and dominos.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Hayley and a brother, Ira Hayley.
He is survived by his wife, Loanna Hayley of Corpus Christi, one son, Tommy Hayley of Corpus Christi; two grandsons, Tommy Hayley II, of Corpus Christi and Christopher Hayley of Dallas; three nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, January 21, 2000, in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with H. D. Simmons and Bob Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Lew Larson, Jimmy Emerson, Rick Hayley, Jason Hayley and Thomas Rack.

HULL

Walter Everette Hull, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2000 in a local hospital. Mr. Hull was born in Corpus Christi on October 12, 1912.
Walter was a third generation from this town of Corpus Christi, which his great-grandfather came to in 1898. He always stated, "It (Corpus Christi) has been good to me and my family." Walter was a very intelligent man.
In his youth he was a "soda jerk" at the old Nueces Hotel, at which time he had the privilege to serve then Congressman Lyndon B. Johnson. Walter was a radio operator during WWII and met Betty Lumpkin while in the service and married her on February 28, 1946. He was employed by the construction company that built PPG, hired there at the age of 21 and retired 44 years later on his 65th birthday. PPG shut down the Corpus Christi plant at the end of the month after his retirement. Walter was avid with any of the Catholic Churches he belonged to as an usher, bingo caller, creator of the money jar, a financial organizer for the St. Peter's Barbeque Pit, Men's Club and treasurer for the Knights of Columbus, being a member for 50 years. Walter had been known for many things, but to name a few, a smooth dancer, a devoted husband and father.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty L. Hull (8/8/22 to 5/14/95); one granddaughter, Michelle Lee Moseley (10/10/70 to 4/6/86); all his brothers and sisters, Edward J. Hull, Elsie M. Whelan, Jack Hull, Maxine Hull Kirkland; one nephew, Charles Whelan; his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by two sons, Robert A. (Bob) Hull of Austin and Michael D. (Tex) Hull and wife, Cassandra (Sandi) Miller Hull of Corpus Christi; their children, Robert E. (Bobby), William J. and Alisha M. Hull; one daughter, Patricia J. (Pat) Hull of Corpus Christi; and her daughter, Melanie L. (Moseley) McGee; and her three children, Kayla M., Justin P. and Chelsea S. McGee. Walter always said, "Pat finally made me great!" referring to being a great-grandfather.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000 in the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2000 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church on Violet Rd., with Reverend Morgan Rowsome as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.

JENKINS

Jean Jenkins, 74, of Corpus Christi, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2000, at her residence. She was born December 5, 1925, in Williamson County, Texas to Roy and Nannie Hickman Kincaid. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Haley B. Jenkins on August 23, 1998.
She is survived by one son, Larry Jenkins of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Ginger Davis and Linda Douglas both of Corpus Christi and Nancy Christensen of Ruidoso, New Mexico; six grandchildren: Cory Jenkins, Kelly Vandever, Wess Jenkins, Sumer Christensen, Ryan Davis and Chase Christensen.
Graveside funeral services will be private for the family.
Memorial services will be conducted in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 6050 Leopard Street at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2000.

MILSTEAD

Bobby R. Milstead, Jr., 42, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2000 at his residence. He was born June 18, 1957 in Robstown, Texas to Bobby R. and Joyce Schilhab Milstead, Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of Robstown High School and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
He was honored as the Super Volunteer of 1988-1989 by the Civics Volunteer Program of the City of Corpus Christi. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandfathers, Earl B. Milstead and Alfred Schilhab.
Survivors are his mother, Joyce Milstead of Robstown; sister, Rhonda (Ronald) Milstead Choron of Cooper City, Florida; paternal grandmother, Jean Milstead of Pembroke Pines, Florida; maternal grandmother, Della Schilhab of Robstown; nieces, Nicole and Brittany Choron of Cooper City, Florida.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2000 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Smith, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Steven Knetig of Austin, David Urbis, Lynn Martin and Mark Cernoch all of Corpus Christi, Larry Charlton of Portland and Mitch Howell of Dallas.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Robstown, Texas.

Margery Pack, 76, passed away January 19, 2000. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 33 years. Margery was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, WM. "Bill" Pack of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Carolyn De Lecour of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, WM. M. "Bill" Pack and wife Lisa of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and David T. Pack and wife Angie of Freeport, Texas; grandson, Jason De Lecour of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Taylor Pack and Regan Pack of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brother, James W. Martin and wife Roberta of La Porte, Texas; sisters, Ann Thompson and husband John of Charlotte, Texas, Carol Lee Zara and husband Paul of Champaign, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 21, 2000 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cage-Mills Everhart Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 22, 2000 at First Baptist Church located at 3115 Ocean Drive.

ROMO

Anita Martha Romo, joined our Lord on January 19, 2000.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Mrs. Romo leaves her husband, Hector M. Romo and three children, Luis Romo of Houston, Frank Lopez of Venezula and Yolanda Stevens of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson; and one brother, and a host of other family friends.

STILL

Kathleen Ann Still went to sit at the right hand of the Lord, Our Father, on January 19, 2000. She was 53.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Sample (Nathan Sturtz) of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Francine Freeman (Jerry) of San Antonio and Mary Ann Mitchell (Charles) of Corpus Christi; three nieces; two nephews; three great nieces; three great nephews and her partner in life Richard, along with numerous friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 22, 2000 at Flour Bluff Church of Christ.
